Bookish List | Books I am not interested in Reading

The current book population in my GoodReads’s tbr list is 294 and when I browsed through them, I realized that there are a few that I have lost interest in completely and even as a book hoarder I don’t think I’ll ever pick them up (or buy them myself XD). This post is about those books. πŸ˜€

1. The Rest of Us Just Live Here by Patrick Ness

After two months when I placed an order on this book, it just arrived a week ago. I am not as intrigued as I was before but since I have the physical copy, I’ll give this book a try. The Rest of Us Just Live Here

2. Alienated by Melissa Landers

When I first got into YA, this book was everywhere and I was very interested but now, I don’t think alien is my thing :////

Alienated (Alienated, #1)

3. Daughter of Smoke & Bone by Laini Taylor

I read the first book last year and was a bit disappointed. You can read my book review here.  I don’t think I’ll continue on with this series.

4. Legend Trilogy by Marie Lu

I also read Legend last year. I only liked it and after I’ve been spoiled and everything, I don’t think I’ll ever read the other two.

5. Burn for Burn trilogy by Jenny Han

The first book, Burn for Burn, was very disappointing and I don’t really want to know what happens next so.. :///

6. Miss Peregrine’s Peculiar Children Trilogy by Ransom Riggs

I am 2/3 into the first book and I really like it but I am not exactly into the series, therefore I think I’ll finish the first book and ask my friend to tell what happens next.

7. Made You Up by Francesca Zappia

17661416

Everything about this book sounds like my cup of tea but a few bad reviews and a few months of delaying the order made my interests lower and lower.

8. A Song of Ice and Fire series by Goerge R.R. Martin

I don’t think I have that kind of commitment :////

9. The Grisha Trilogy by Leigh Bardugo

I read the first few pages on ebook and I didn’t understand a thing so….and I’ve also heard that this series is a bit underwhelming.

10. Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon

They are just sooo hugeeee. So many words, I don’t think I can finish it :///

And the list ends here! Those are ten books that I don’t intend to read. What about you? I would love to know your list! πŸ˜€

Thanks for reading and Until next time,

  1. I read the first Miss Peregrine book and ended up really disliking it, so I’m avoiding the sequels despite the huge hype they’re getting. Maybe I’ll just watch the movie when it comes out, haha. I’m also with you on the Game of Thrones – there is no way I can commit to it, especially since there are two more books due to be published, and the series won’t end before 2020. =/

Another series I am not interested in reading is the Shatter Me series by Tahereh Mafi. I just could not handle her writing style. The purple prose was way too flowery and jarring.

    1. I like Miss Peregrine’s but I’m not that intrigued but I’m excited for the movie! And Game of Thrones? How? πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ Too much! And I like the poetic writing style of Tehereh Mafi but sometimes It really is a bit too much πŸ˜‚

  2. Great list Kim! I don’t think I’ll ever be in the mood for GRRMatin’s books. It was very intimidating I always get tired just by looking at those pages. I also heard mixed reviews (mostly negative) about Made You Up, they said the author didn’t do enough research about her subject matter so I kinda lost my interest too. TROUJLHere, on the other hand, is a hit or miss book. There’s not much on the plot but the writing style was so good, for me at least. So I think it’s best to lower your expectation and don’t mind the hype. Happy reading Kim! πŸ™‚

  3. Great list! I also didn’t Miss Peregrine’s Peculiar Children Trilogy and got spoiled on the Legend Trilogy. I hate it when my friends do that to me, it just ruins my whole excitement for it.

  5. Just recently started the Outlander series and am on the second book now. I love it! Very long but definitely worth it so far! Also I’ve read A Song of Ice and Fire and it’s amazing, despite what someone else commented. But you definitely have to be interested in the kind of story it tells.

  6. Kim, I loved this post! You inspired me to take a new look at my tbr shelves both on goodreads and at home and think what I really would like to read! As soon as I get home, I will clean my tbrs and will do a post for that. I’ll let you know as soon as it goes live, haha! ❀ Thanks!

  7. Haha! GOT is a little daunting, I’ll give you that, and his writing style throughout the second book (which I just finished) is quite annoying. Even so, I must be a glutton for punishment because I already own 3 & 4 and plan to read them this year. >.> We’ll see how it goes. *sigh*

      1. Haha! Some people don’t like Martin’s writing style and thus detest it. However, his writing style simply proves his literary genius, even if a tad annoying at times. *shrug* Matter of opinion. (aka writers vs readers :p)
