Blog Awards | The Sunshine Blogger Award

Good day, everyone!

Starting this month off with an award! I was nominated by Ariana over at The Quirky Book Nerd for The Sunshine Blogger Award. Thank you so much, Ariana! Ariana is very talented with blogging and her blog is amazing, check it out! 😀

The Rules:sunshinebloggeraward1

-Thank whoever nominated you.

-Answer the questions.

-Pick five bloggers to answer your questions.

Ariana’s questions

1. If you could travel to any period in time, where would you go and why?

I would go to the golden age which is the 1920s Paris or sth but there was a war going on so… I think I’d go to 1960s New York or London or Paris. Mostly it’s because I really like vintage stuffs and the fashion in bot era too.

2. What is your favorite under-hyped novel?

The distance between us by Kasie West. I think the reason most people don’t pick this book up is because of the cover, and I totally understand that. But really, this book is one of the best contemporary romance I’ve read! 😀 it’s funny, quirky, sweet, romantic, swoon worthy and everything really.

If you want to know more about this book, I’ve a book review here.

3. What type of music do you enjoy listening to the most?

It depends on my mood, really. I like sad songs but also pop rock R&B sometimes. 🙂

4. What are three books you absolutely refuse to read?

50 Shades of Grey, Twilight, The Mortal Instruments. Just…no interest I guess? Tho I’ll definitely pick up the Infernal Devices by Cassandra Clare.

5. Do you prefer series or standalones?

I’m not sure on this one. It, again, depends on the story. :///

6. What are your favorite and least favorite book to movie adaptations?

Love, Rosie. It’s one my favorite movie and I cried! Just know i don’t shed my tears that often which is like twice a year so this movie is definitely something eh?

My least favorite book to movie adapt rink is The Scorch Trials. It’s not the same as the book most of the movie. Tho I really like the quality and filming styles and stuffs. It’s very cool and pretty.

7. What is one food you never get tired of eating?

French Fries. I mean, come on, who  doesn’t love French fries? I’m a French fries monster!

8. What are the most difficult and most rewarding things about blogging for you?

Blogging daily is very difficult because I tend to procrastinate a lot and there’s like a million things I want to do in a day :(((

The most rewarding thing is the nice comments and fangirling! 😀

Annelise from The Book Adventures of Annelise Lestrange

Aldii from Perfection in Books

Mariana from fireheartbooks

My Questions…

  1. Do you judge books by their covers? What is your favorite?
  2. What is your spirit animal?
  3. Which Hogwarts houses do you belong to?
  4. What is your worst fear?
  5. What is one thing you used to hate about yourself?
  6. Black or White?
  7. Your all-time favourite animated movie?
  8. Describe yourself in one word 😉

And that’s all for this post! Happy Reading!

Again, HAPPY NEW YEAR! (I’ll keep saying this for this whole week or sth) :ppp

It’s my first award of the year! I was nominated by Rae over at The Bookmark Chronicles last year, follow her already! 😀

The Rules:

  • Create a post to accept your award.
  • Answer the questions I have below.
  • Nominate between 5-10 book bloggers who you think also deserve this award.
  • Come up with your own 5 questions for your nominees.

Rae’s questions:

  1. Favorite Book Series (nope, don’t say HP!)

Whyyyy nottt. and why only one :(( I’ll choose The Lunar Chronicles which consists of Cinder, Scarlet, Cress, and Winter. The four books are fairytale retellings mixed with scifi, action/suspense, and awesome characters.

I finished Winter last year but I still remember all the details xD and it was amazing.

2. Fictional Crush

Only one again? :(( As I mentioned I recently read Winter and I fell i love with Captain Carswell Thorne. I love his sarcasm, his humor and everything.

3. A book that you read this year and would recommend to friends

I haven’t finished any book this year sadly XD I’ll choose one from last year then 😉 This is becoming pretty repetitive but I just can’t recommend this book enough! It’s Emmy & Oliver by Robin Benway (I have a review here).

4. A book that you read this year that was disappointing

Falling Kingdoms by Morgan Rhodes didn’t live up to the hype for me :/// I didn’t like the main characters and the plot didn’t overwhelm me like I hoped. (Review here)

5. First book on your TBR for 2016

I am currently reading The Final Empire by Brandon Sanderson and The Next Together by Lauren James. 😀

My questions:

  1. First book you’ve read this year? If you haven’t finished any, what are you currently reading? How did/are you feel about/liking it?
  2. 2016 Blog Resolutions?
  3. Have you treat yourself with a few books so far? what is/are your recent purchases?
  4. Your current favorite jam? I needddd musicssss
  5. What is one thing you would ask for if you knew the answer will be yes?

And the awards go to….

Aldii @ PerfectioninBooks

Poulami @ Daydreaming Books

Lia @ Bookland (Are you back yet? :D)

Find me at the Library

Candy @ The Bookish Girl

Thanks for fangirling with me 😀

And thank you for reading! Have a nice day 😀

Virtual hugs and chocolates,

I’m again surprised that I was nominated for this blog award because my blog is rather messy, with changing themes and no real schedule, which is very unprofessional of me. But you know, life gets in the way.

I have to thank the Aldii from Perfection in Books for thinking that I deserve this award. 🙂 Aldii, you are the sweetest. Go check her blog out if you haven’t. 😀

The Rules:

  1. Thank and link the person who nominated you.
  2. Answer the 7 questions your nominator has provided.
  3. Nominate 7 other bloggers and create new questions for them.

My answers:

Reading outdoors or indoors?

Indoors because I’m most comfortable in my little cornor. I do sometimes like to read on my swing which is outside, also I don’t  mind cafe because…food. 😀

Not me btw. Picture Credit: Google

Worst fear about blogging? (ex. having no ideas,no more interest)

I do feel very very guilty when I’m absent for a long time and that’s because I’m busy or just lazy.

Best thing about blogging?

Fangirling! and learning from all of you 🙂

Best thing about books?

It transports you to places and distracts you from the boring real world which is like the best thing.

Do you like movies or tv shows based on books?

I do! I love to see the story in pictures and compare it with the ones in my head.

A goal for your blog?

I started blogging mostly because I’m in need of fangirling and connecting with other fangirl/fanboy. Goal is continue reading and blogging 🙂

ARCs: Yes or no?

Yes please! Tho I like physical Arcs more than eArcs because eyesight -.-

And thats it!

My nominees…

  2. Winter hobbies?
  3. Which country invented the toaster? Joking lol, Coffee or tea?

Loads of love and books,

1. You must thank the person who nominated you and include a link to their blog.
2. You must list the rules and display the award.
3. You must add 7 facts about yourself.
4. You must nominate 15 other bloggers and comment on one of their posts to let them know they have been nominated.

  • My favorite holidays are Christmas (I feel amazing in the season) and Chinese New year (because red pockets)

  • I have never been to any foreign countries and I want to so badly 😦

  • My name ‘Kimsiang’, couldn’t be written using Khmer letters so in my birth certificate, my name is ‘Kimseang’ and my classmates have been calling me that since forever (when it’s not my name at all) I’ve been correcting people to call me Kimsiang this year lol because I think it’s better?

  • I love me-time. My friends always ask ‘Don’t you feel lonely?’ No, man, I don’t. Gimme a book and music then you can go play wherever and whatever you want.

  • Another thing that people said to me a lot is ‘Look! You have grey hairs! I am not lying!’ *rolls eyes* Um, I have lived with me for 15 years…and I do know that fact…Thanks for observing. Yep I do have grey hairs and it’s prolly a gene thing because my sisters all have it from young ages.

  • I feel super guilty when I have more than 3 tbr books. I know I’m weird. As much as I love to collect books, I just feel verrrrryyyyy guilty. And can I control myself after that?

You guys deserve this award! (you can either do it or not :D)

Happy Reading,
